John began his career in 1992 and his first trial was a double homicide defense, in which his client was acquitted. After that he was offered and accepted a job as a prosecutor eventually becoming a senior trial lawyer handling major crimes. During his tenure as a prosecutor, John tried 75 cases including two capital murders. Seeing the injustice in the quality of representation of some of the people he was prosecuting, he retired from prosecution and devoted his practice to defense.
John opened his offices in 2000 and since that time has tried numerous felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases, and has tried some of the biggest cases in North Georgia. Known for a tenacious cross examination style, he has been very successful in front of Metro Atlanta juries over the years. Even in trials before the bench, he is well respected by both judges and prosecutors for making legally sound, common sense presentations in a no nonsense and professional way.
John’s skills and ethics are so trusted by Cobb County judges, that he has been appointed a judge on numerous occasions in the State Court of Cobb County. He is a tough negotiator but a gentleman to his adversaries and prevails with his knowledge of the law and powers of persuasion.
John’s practice is not limited to Cobb County, but all over North Georgia.
